Swagbucks = Books for You!

Yes, I’m here to talk about Swagbucks again. They’ve got this new thing with a holiday wish list. You can see my Swagbucks Wishlist. (http://www.swagbucks.com/account/wishlist?rb=339789&cmp=123&cxid=0-twitter – WordPress won’t let me do the actual link. So sorry, you’ll have to copy and paste.) If you join Swagbucks using that link… there’s a chance of a $2,500.00 Amazon gift card. And you know what that can buy? Books. Scores and scores of books. Books galore.

Swagbucks has been pretty good to me already – I’ve (rough estimate) probably already gotten $500 in GC’s from them since joining in 09. That’s not bad for something completely free. Also? If you haven’t joined yet, I have a code for you that’s worth an additional 80 swagbucks at sign up, and it doesn’t expire until November 23. (Unlike last time when I was a moron. Sorry Liz!) So, if you want to join – click that link, but before you complete the sign up, let me know – email me, whatever, so I can give you the code to start you off right. 😀 There’s the contact form at the top – or if you leave a comment I’ll have your email.

Now – since you all are kind enough to let me babble on about this (although you know it is my blog… :P). I’m using some of those Swagbucks orders of Amazon Giftcards to offer a prize. I consider authors Dee Tenorio, and Shiloh Walker my friends. (I’d like to think it’s reciprocated as well…) Both of them have had a rough few days, weeks, and longer. It’s not much, but I want to give away a digital copy of their newest book. One each – so Deceiving the Protector by Dee Tenorio, and If You Hear Her by Shiloh Walker.

I know a lot of you (some of you) read print only so sorry but… I can’t afford to pay shipping as well, so kindle copy it is. Maybe one day I can afford Amazon Prime and I can do “dead tree” books. But for now, all the money I’ve got is from Swagbucks. 😛 So there you go.

And before you think this is all altruistic… I chose these two books specifically, because both of them mention this little green citrus fruit. ;D So you know, that’s kinda awesome.

Have I sold you on Swagbucks then? Do you want to win a book? You know what to do. Comment. Tell me something good. No really – today, I’m judging on content!

I already am a member of Swagbucks or I would definitely join. It is pretty simple and anyone who hasn’t joined should. I am always looking things up on the internet anyway or printing coupons so it doesn’t really take up any more time. Today my internet is in and out and driving me crazy but I was able to order my nephews Christmas presents. It’s Power Rangers for them which is funny since many years ago I waited in lines to buy my son Power Rangers. I wonder if Pokemon will make a comeback too.

Okay, you said to tell you something really good, which I’m taking to mean funny, so here it goes. The most embarrassing week of my life:

I used to be a zookeeper and Elephant Handler at the Baton Rouge Zoo before I became supermom and superwriter. One day, a fellow Elephant Handler and I forgot to lock one of the person-sized gates in the Elephant Enclosure.

Luckily, the gate only led to a small room where the keepers all kept their amazing zookeeper paraphernalia and was not big enough for the Elephants to walk through.

However, they did completely clear out that small room. Reaching inside with their trunks, they managed to eat an entire radio (including the CD it contained), several bottles of sunscreen, 3 brooms, 2 shovels (How the F*CK did they eat a SHOVEL?) and all of our “elephant hooks”, the sticks with steel hooks(not sharp, don’t worry) on the end used to control the elephants.

So, for the next week, my partner and I (the guilty parties) had to sift through elephant poop waiting for the various pieces of eaten equipment to emerge. Once we “found” the steel hooks, we were able to attach them to new sticks. The sticks themselves had been a complete loss.

None of the animals or keepers were harmed in the making of this “most embarrassing week ever”.

I’ve been a swagbucks member for a few years now and have gotten so many gift cards from them. When ever I am online I play swagbucks tv in another window which racks up swagbucks. lol I do searches several times a day and do offers, NOSO and the daily poll.

    I love getting free stuff.

Gee, there’s no WAY to top S.J.’s post! 🙂

I enjoy swagbucks, too, and I’m glad you turned me onto it, Lime. I promise I’m not cursing or anything as I read this post! 🙂

You weren’t specific about what you sort of good thing you wanted to hear about, so I’ll just tell you what tickles me now about authors – the internet! I just love how accessible most authors are because of email, blogs, and websites. I love that when a book touches me in some way that I can pop an email or comment off to the author and get an answer back. And I’ve so enjoyed your blog posts with authors that take the time to comment on the posts. It just makes me like them that much more. So that’s my good thought for the day.

Something good – just left a memorial service for my grandmother who died in August, one month away from 96. She raised me and was my best friend. I was blessed to have her and am grateful :).
    Thank you for the giveaway.

I only recently discovered Swagbucks. Honestly, I haven’t really paid attention to the little counter at the top of my screen. So, based on your post I checked it out. I have enough points for $15 in Amazon GC! Thanks for reminding me to check. Boy, those points really add up! Thanks for the awesome giveaway. I do love books!
