What I (Limecello) Read the Second Half of 2019

Hi friends! As you may know, here at ALBTALBS we try to provide comprehensive lists of what we’ve read during the year. (Some of us split  the year in half, some of us do it in one go.)

ICYMI there was a lot of health stuff for me this year, and my brain is pretty broken, so if things don’t make sense I apologize.

As you may have figured, I’m a major mood and comfort [re]reader. I tried to denote re-reads within the [same month] with an asterisk after the author name. (That’s what that means, I think.) If there’s an asterisk before the title, that means it’s a general re-read. [I know, even “tricked” myself with this damn system/had forgotten about it, because I couldn’t figure out why my numbers were off. Anyway, without further ado … my 2019 Part II list! (The list might be slightly off, because my computer is ancient and wants to die – if I leave it unplugged overnight it goes from 100% charge to 0%. And my internet connection isn’t great either. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We’re struggling over here, kay?) The vast majority of the books I read are from the library. And if you’re familiar with KU, you can probably tell the periods where I took advantage of a promotional [membership] :P.

If I can parse it out I’ll try to do my top 10 reads of the year. As always, I didn’t bother listing my DNF books – and if you want to know my thoughts on books I try to remember to write them for each one on my GR page.

Now for the talkiness. I believe I read 409 books this year. If you count them on the list I think it’s only ” ” 401 … but I re-read some of the listed books. Some of them multiple times, so that’s where the other 8 come from. It’s also possible I missed some books. It’s a lot.

I’m still “currently reading” 46 books I added in 2019, I believe … and I think GR wonked at least 2 titles so I think I DNF’d 129 books. I’m pretty sure I counted 118 DNFs from July to December, so it tracks I DNF’d at least 11 books the first half of the year. (The GR “year in review” says 584, but I know that’s off.)

Did you read any of the books I did? What’d you think of them? Do you have books to recommend to me? I’m always looking for more! 😀

P.S. If there are typos or weird changes, I apologize. I use TextEdit to make the initial list, and it has a very insistent DYAC. 🤦🏻‍♀️ (And if you see one, do please let me know , if you’re so inclined. Thanks!)

P.P.S.- while we actually have a much more descriptive explanation of grades for the review crew… here’s the general gist. Think very much bell curve. (So most books are good and fall into the C range.) A – Amazing. B – Very Good. C – Good – your average read. D – Not Good (Definite problems). F – Terrible. DNF – Did Not Finish (Reasons Vary).

P.P.P.S. – If you were interested in what I read the first half of 2019 … you can find that list here.
