Teaser Tuesday: The Informational Session

Last week, I was stressing out about content, and then someone called me the “queen of excerpts” – or that may have been after. Anyway, I was incredibly feverish. And I thought – I love excerpts from books. Like, really really love. In fact, 9.9 times out of 10 if I’m considering a book and there’s no excerpt, I won’t buy it. So now, I’m providing… excerpts! Courtesy of authors.

Win for everyone! What is Teaser Tuesday? It’s where I post an excerpt of any book – new, old, or upcoming. The “special” thing about this new Tuesday series/feature is that the excerpt won’t (and can’t have been) posted anywhere else before. That’s the agreement. I’ll post “Teaser Tuesday” excerpts the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. (Except for June – for that month there will be one excerpt each Thursday.)

Now do I have any way of “enforcing” it? Well, I guess not. Will I hate you forever? Very possibly. And you know, I did threaten Jess Granger with the Wrath of God at RT 2010 (and I’d basically just met her). So… yeah. While I joke around a lot, I can also mean SRS BIZNIZ.

I’m pretty sure most, if not all the readers of my blog (hi you guys, I love you!) are romance readers, yes? Do you read other genres? Anyway, most of the excerpts ought to be featuring more of a romance-tone at least… with any heat level/rating as long as there’s a disclaimer or warning if it’s something “for adults only.”

Everyone good with that? It starts next week, with Lisa Hendrix. Some authors are also choosing to do giveaways with their excerpts, some aren’t. I’m now scheduling dates in 2012. I want this thing to be ongoing, so I’m really excited about that.

Authors – if you’re interested, please contact me.

And a general question – are there any authors you want me to try to hit up for excerpts? 😀 No promises, but I’m happy to send off a few emails and ask!

NB: Unrelated, but incredibly important. Please look into/check out Operation Auction -which is raising money for Fatin, aka Mad / @Mad4rombks on twitter, and her daughters. You can read more about it on the page.

Also, if you donate money for relief efforts in Japan, which I hope you do, run it through Charity Navigator, or some other trustworthy site. I think you’d be surprised at how much goes into bureaucracy and how little goes to actual aid for many organizations, unfortunately.
