This is Why I Need My Schedules…

You’ll note I didn’t do anything to Keishon’s post. And I’m crossing m fingers it’s all correct. I’m also typing this while my arm is experiencing what feels like never ending muscle spasms. It’s quite odd – it doesn’t exactly hurt but… I can literally see my muscle/arm twitching.

Anyway, I hope to go back and do my usual spiehl and add the book links to Keishon’s post. It’s really interesting, isn’t it? (Speaking of – did you guys know I include book links in almost every post? And that every book cover I post is a buy link as well?)

Today is going to be another super-loaded post day. Which I guess fits with all this other birthday stuff? See Keishon was supposed to have June 2nd, but then she emailed me and said she couldn’t do it. And then everyone else in June who was scheduled couldn’t take that date- when I thought someone could. And so I asked Twitter, and Heidi and Violet were awesome and stepped in. But then everyone else filed in and now I’m all what the heck do I do?!

Solution? Multiple posts. You’re, um, welcome? I’m apologizing for the chaos though – posts are coming in the night before (which omg not something I can handle.) and it’s just chaos up in here. Thanks for your patience. Which I wrote as “patients” because clearly I need to go to the loony bin.

Also, there’s this quick Swagbucks “update” -something to keep an eye out for:

Swagbucks has two more fun ways for you to get your reward points – through Sunday you can win five collectible Swag Buck bills exclusively through search – get them all before 11:59pm PT on Father’s Day and get an automatic 10 Swag Buck bonus. Also, on June 20th they’re having a Swag Code Extravanga, which is an opportunity to get Swag Bucks for nothing. They’re giving away 60 Swag Bucks in codes throughout the day, so get there early and stay throughout the day for more chances to win!

Let me know if you want to join – I’ll give you a code that starts you out with 70 extra swagbucks.

Really though – did you guys know about the buy links? Have you ever clicked them? Any other questions about the inner workings of the blog/things I should explain/”disclose”?

NB – this is posted unedited. Life I’ve mentioned, is crazy.

Happy June! It’s My Birthday Month!!!

So it hasn’t happened yet, but you’ll notice some “unusual” things. First of all, on Thursdays? There will be a Teaser Tuesday post. In fact, on every Thursday this month! There will be a special Guest Author & A Giveaway post each Tuesday as well. And to round it out, a reader post every Saturday.

Fun, right? It’s all to super-load the blog for my birthday. 😀

Something else might happen, but I don’t know. Some times I like things to be off the cuff … which is also good and balances my crazy blog schedule, you know? (Incidentally the GA&AG is scheduled through June 2014 now…)

Speaking of it being my birthday… the focus should be on ME right? *angelface* Aside from hitting up the liquor store, more should happen.

One way to do that? Join Swagbucks! (Copy and paste this link into your browser: http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/limecello) If you follow me on twitter, every so often you’ll see a message like this one:

That’s actually me. And it’s legit. This is a screen cap of my gift cards page. There are actually too many for you to see them all. I’ve literally gotten hundreds of dollars in gift cards. (Rough count was right about $800.) That’s how I can manage to do prizes periodically. If you haven’t joined yet, send me a message – I have a code for you to enter at registration for an extra 70 swagbucks! I’m also asking  – if you haven’t signed up yet, just as a favor to me please? Because the blogger with the most referrals at the end of the month wins a prize!

Next…  Julep is having a giveaway. You can enter here. See? ;P It’s not ALL about me. Julep is nail polish. They’re also giving away an ipad so… you know. One of those must be appealing to you, right?

As usual, am open to comments, suggestions, random discussion, and/or ranting. Have at it!!

Dude! Swagbucks! Free Trip to Vegas!

Friends, have you signed up for Swagbucks yet? That thing I talk about every so often? Well I got this in my inbox:

Staring on Tuesday, Swagbucks is looking for “The Swag Mom,” and it could be you! You’ll be able to nominate a friend or yourself, and if you get the most votes, you’ll win the Grand Prize: A trip for two to Los Angeles, where you’ll board a Private Jet Charter to Las Vegas for a relaxing two night Spa Vacation! Even if you don’t win the grand prize, you could win an identical trip for two just for voting! Be sure to check Swagbucks.com on Tuesday for all the details!

I… have pretty much the proverbial snowball’s chance in hell of winning. But hey – maybe one of you will! … And you’ll take me! 😉 I’m going to include my associate link below, in the hopes you’ll use it. (Cuz that would be super sweet and amazing!

Oh and something all of you have a better chance of winning? 😉 Well, Shelli Stevens is guesting today, and actually :X every other giveaway that hasn’t been announced yet is still open too. (Something like the past uh… 3 weeks?) O_o I can’t seem to include any images and I’m just sick and headachy enough to not give a damn. You’ll have to forgive me.

Mish Mash! Stuff I Figured …

That you might want to know.

First of all, me! That’s right – I’m elsewhere on the web today! Guest blogging/interviewed-ish by author Mandy M. Roth at her blog! I think it’s interesting (hah well obviously, right?!), and for those of you who don’t know me as well it might give you a better idea of who I am. (I’m realizing I haven’t really done a lot of “about me” or “editorial” type posts here.)

Secondly… Swagbucks. Yeah, yeah, them again. 😛

“March Swagness has come to Swagbucks – it’s all about you earning bonus Swag Bucks while doing all of the things you’re already doing on Swagbucks. Every day thy’ll give you an earning goal, which you’ll find on their homepage. As you earn Swag Bucks throughout the day, that meter will fill up and when it’s full, you’ll have earned your bonus for the day. The bonus will always be 10% of that day’s goal.
Be sure to check in everyday, as the earning goal for any given day could be higher or lower than the day before. Your total bonus amount will continue to accumulate each day, and your bonus amount will be applied at by April 5th – this special promotion runs through April 2nd. If you hit the earning goal every single day of March Swagness, your bonus amount will be doubled!

EVERYTHING you earn on Swagbucks counts towards March Swagness – including (but limited to) Search, Surveys, Tasks, Swag Codes, Special Offers, Referral Bucks, Winning TTPTP, Hashtag and Comment hookups – if you earn it from us, it counts towards the day it was earned!

Get your March Swagness on starting today, when the goal will be 50 Swag Bucks

And lastly… I was going to talk about Trayvon Martin. I feel like a number of the issues facing women are important to mention, but thankfully a lot of other people are talking about them as well. The latter I think we all know about right? The crazy legislators that have absolutely lost their pea-brain minds? It has nothing to do with politics. What I’m talking about? It’s not a party/ideology thing – it’s a) being a woman, and b) being a human being. So if or when the chance comes – vote.  If you want to do more – write your representative or senator. Call. Email. Go to town hall meetings. Protest – there’s an organized protest where women are marching on state capitols.

I’m also glad Trayvon Martin’s story is finally being publicized more. I heard about it a few weeks ago – a week after it happened, actually, and… I was sickened. If you haven’t heard about it – you can read about what happened here. The United States Department of Justice is looking into it now too. And a Grand Jury was formed – I started with the most recent article. And that’s a good thing.

Changes! And Swagstuff!

And I totally lost my train of thought. I meant to do this on Saturday. Then Tuesday. And both days time got away from me and now I cannot for the life of me remember what the third thing was.

So, first of all, changes are reviews! They’re going to be happening! I haven’t quite set a schedule yet. (As the “team” hasn’t been finalized. Nor requests. A work in progress, here!)

Secondly… more posts. Different posts! I know some [all] of you were like “more giveaways!” and I agree. Who doesn’t like a good giveaway? Nobody. That’s who. But – this blog was getting a little… :X author heavy, don’t you think? As I’ve said my intention was never to make this a promo blog. So, more reader contributions are in the works. (Which is also why I decided to pursue reviewing more seriously.)

I’m thinking Monday for reviews. I like it. I also plan on [pre?] dating one for February, once I re-read the book so it’s fresher in my memory. We’ll see about frequency.

But! You have a choice for the rest! As you know I’m working on starting a feature on male romance readers. And I’m also going to have a friend do random posts on… make up! [Cuz she refuses to talk about books because she’s a hater like that.] Anyway, said person is Jen B., otherwise known as Jen the Ginger Kid, and we can come up with a different name for her because I know there’s another equally awesome Jen B. who is a frequent visitor here. I like JTGK, personally.

My point is – what day would you like to see additional posts? Any preference at all, say it now or forever hold your peace!

Now! On to Swagbucks! I talk about them every so often. WTF is Swagbucks you ask? It’s a virtual dollar on the web. WordPress also always strips my links and yet I try. I try. The thing is, I’ve made quite a bit of spending money from them. At no cost to myself. You can earn rewards for doing things you normally would online. I’ve written a post about it even, trying to explain the basic ins and outs.

So it’s Swagbucks’s birthday come Monday. They’re doing this whole extravaganza and 130 in SB codes will be up for grabs, which kills me because I won’t be at my computer for prime SB winning time. You can “join the party” by copying and pasting the link I will put in the comments. (Sorry, unhosted wordpress sites don’t allow for affiliate links.) Up for grabs is $1,000! And you might say “but Lime – nobody ever wins those things!” I have. I’ve been really lucky. It definitely wasn’t 1K, but it was enough to make me happy. (A grand would make me really happy.)

If you haven’t signed up – you totally should do so. AND if you do want to sign up – before you complete the process, there’s a “enter swag code” line – contact me. I have a code you can enter to start you off with 140 additional swagbucks. Quick note, 450 SBs gets you a $5 Amazon GC. 625 SB’s gets you a $5 B&N GC. (Yeah I dunno why the disparity, but whatever. If you sign up with the code, you’re 1/3 of the way to a $5 Amazon giftcard!) What’s also cool is… if you want your ‘net usage to be altruistic? You can donate your swagbucks to charity as well! The code is good through February 27th, and worth 110 SB’s. (You normally start out with 30, which is how I got to 140.)

To all of you who have already signed up… I’m sorry. I keep asking the guy to give us codes. So, maybe some day. Or he’ll cut me off. One of the two. Let’s hope for the former.

And that’s all!

Recap:

A. Reviews to be regularly posted!

B. Girly stuff coming! Let me know what days you’d like to see additional posts!

C. Swagbucks Birthday Bash!

p.s. Thea Harrison had the whim idea yesterday (or the day before?) on twitter to do a feature on men who read romance – you can see it here – so you know – if there are any reading unicorns here lurking about, join her badass bunch!

A Pathetic Excuse at Bribery

So… you might have noticed there was… *gulp* no post that went up last Saturday. I had every intention to do one… but you know where the road of good intentions goes. I hope to have time later today – and I’ll write up a post of winners that I’ll pretend went up at the proper time. No worries though, winners will have a full week to contact me. That’s fair, right? (And still fair that winners have to come back and check. Because I’m a bitch and that’s how I roll.)

Beverly Kendall, who owns and runs The Season Blog is doing something for everyone. See?

She’s also running like a trillion contests so you should check out both her website, and The Season one!

And you know how I’ve talked about Swagbucks before? Here’s a “canned announcement” from them. 😛

Swagbucks is going crazy on Monday, with more ways for you to earn reward points towards free stuff. First, they’re having a Swag Code Extravaganza, which means a fun day where you can earn up to 70 Swag Bucks from 8 different codes throughout the day!

Second, there’s a new set of Holiday Collector’s Bills which you can only earn through search – get all five and you’ll receive an instant 12 Swag Bucks bonus! The set starts at noon on Monday

Finally, for any referral you bring in today through the 19th, you’ll not only get up to 1000 matching Swag Bucks from Search, but 1000 Matching Swag Bucks from everything they earn (not including codes) all day Monday – they’re calling it Mega Match Monday!

Three big reasons to visit Swagbucks this Monday!

And… again -if you haven’t signed up yet, this time I’ve got a code for new registrants that’s 100 swagbucks! So if you want it, please contact me using the tab letting me know you’ve signed up and I’ll give it to you! For those of you who have signed up… sorry- and how annoying, right? I’m going to try and see if Swagbucks will ever give us a code. Unfortunately I doubt it, but hey! Maybe!

OH! RIGHT! AND! Karen Erickson picked her winner via randomizer.org: Cathy P please follow the instructions here to claim your prize!

Swagbucks = Books for You!

Yes, I’m here to talk about Swagbucks again. They’ve got this new thing with a holiday wish list. You can see my Swagbucks Wishlist. (http://www.swagbucks.com/account/wishlist?rb=339789&cmp=123&cxid=0-twitter – WordPress won’t let me do the actual link. So sorry, you’ll have to copy and paste.) If you join Swagbucks using that link… there’s a chance of a $2,500.00 Amazon gift card. And you know what that can buy? Books. Scores and scores of books. Books galore.

Swagbucks has been pretty good to me already – I’ve (rough estimate) probably already gotten $500 in GC’s from them since joining in 09. That’s not bad for something completely free. Also? If you haven’t joined yet, I have a code for you that’s worth an additional 80 swagbucks at sign up, and it doesn’t expire until November 23. (Unlike last time when I was a moron. Sorry Liz!) So, if you want to join – click that link, but before you complete the sign up, let me know – email me, whatever, so I can give you the code to start you off right. 😀 There’s the contact form at the top – or if you leave a comment I’ll have your email.

Now – since you all are kind enough to let me babble on about this (although you know it is my blog… :P). I’m using some of those Swagbucks orders of Amazon Giftcards to offer a prize. I consider authors Dee Tenorio, and Shiloh Walker my friends. (I’d like to think it’s reciprocated as well…) Both of them have had a rough few days, weeks, and longer. It’s not much, but I want to give away a digital copy of their newest book. One each – so Deceiving the Protector by Dee Tenorio, and If You Hear Her by Shiloh Walker.

I know a lot of you (some of you) read print only so sorry but… I can’t afford to pay shipping as well, so kindle copy it is. Maybe one day I can afford Amazon Prime and I can do “dead tree” books. But for now, all the money I’ve got is from Swagbucks. 😛 So there you go.

And before you think this is all altruistic… I chose these two books specifically, because both of them mention this little green citrus fruit. ;D So you know, that’s kinda awesome.

Have I sold you on Swagbucks then? Do you want to win a book? You know what to do. Comment. Tell me something good. No really – today, I’m judging on content!

Swagbucks and Headaches?

Two totally unrelated things, by the way.

I was totally knocked out on Tuesday with a migraine. I got up, almost threw up, and promptly crawled back into bed and spent nearly the whole day there. Yesterday and Today have been a sort of sad recovery.

Nevertheless I forgot that I’d been meaning to share a big money making/saving tip with all of you. Sadly we all missed out on the team challenge, those of you like me, and the others who don’t know about Swagbucks. I’m not going to link to it, because I’d like for the referral link to show. Let me explain – it’s a digital dollar, basically. You get these things called Swagbucks that you can exchange for a number of prizes or items. I pretty much always go for gift cards. To Amazon. So I can buy books. No, I don’t have a book problem, so let’s not talk about it, okay?

WordPress – or at least my site hates Swagbucks. No idea why. However, there’s a promo going on right now. If you haven’t signed up, I’d love for you to use my referral link: http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/limecello (you have to copy and paste it, sorry – that whole hating thing…)  It’d be super sweet. Also, if you sign up, please let me know beforehand so I can give you a code for 70 additional swagbucks! It doesn’t cost any money to use. It does have a “rewards” thing – like with credit cards, if you buy through them/their link you get X number of swagbucks, but that’s a “your choice” thing.

I’ve been using it for over two years, and never saw an increase in spam or security. In fact, what actually got me was that stupid writerspace hack. Arrgh. I’ve made a few hundred in gift cards. Based on my last count etc, I’d say ~$500 now? (Yeah  – that’s a lot of books. And shoes.)

I’m also blogging about this because now through Halloween there are these special “Holiday Collectors bucks” and you can get bonus SBs for collecting them. It’s just a search and win site – you use their search engine instead of say, Google, and you’re randomly awarded bucks. Anywhere from 7-50, which you can trade in for stuff. I’ve talked about it before. And explained how it works and how to use it “best.”

See? It’s cute!

So remember – consider signing up. (With my referral code, please!) But before you do – let me know so I can give you the code to enter while registering. (Otherwise I don’t think it works.) And then go and get stuff – gift cards, items for gifts, all the good stuff!

*ETA: I’ve posted the link – and actual link – in the comments! Hah, WordPress, I have outsmarted you!

Swagbucks: Charity Edition

I’ve talked about Swagbucks before in a post – and I mention it every so often on Twitter as well. What I like about Swagbucks is the variety of things you can get with it (NB I think it’s best to search using Swagbucks only, not any of their “partner sites”… but I digress.) What I also really like about them, is their charitable efforts. Sure, they’re probably making money, and lots of it, but they do give back. Through “Race for the Cure” type donations, and here, Tornado relief. They also have had funds for Haiti, Japan, and so on.

In fact, here’s the current Tornado Relief Fund Donation Page: http://swagbucks.com/p/prize/25155/Tornado-Relief-Fund-Donation. It ends on Tuesday, May 31, so that’s something to consider.

Now if you don’t have swagbucks yet, but would like to donate – here’s an easy way. Sign up. And, with the code provided below, you start out with five bucks. Even if you never want to use Swagbucks ever again, at least through ridiculously minimal effort, you can donate to charity and Tornado relief without spending any of your own money. (I will say, I do recommend using them otherwise. I’ve donated, and entered some sweepstakes, but otherwise I generally cash in my Swagbucks for giftcards, and in ~26 months I’ve gotten $600. Just for doing internet searches I would’ve run anyway, really.)

Swagbucks, the best place to get free stuff from searching and more is celebrating Memorial Day next week with a special Score Four and Twenty Swag Bucks promotion – they’ll have 4 special Limited Edition collector’s bills available, and if you can snag all four by the end of Thursday, you’ll get a bonus 20 Swag Bucks. ALSO, this Thursday they’re have a Swag Code Extravaganza, a day filled with fun, games and the opportunity to snag over 40 Swag Bucks worth of codes throughout the day. Be sure to visit Swagbucks all this week for opportunities to win big!

Not a member yet? Sign up through my referral link (http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/limecello) and enter the code MEMORIALDAY when prompted – it’ll pad your account with an extra 50 Swag Bucks on top of the 30 that everyone starts with. Get started earning your reward points today!

I’d provide actual links/clickable text, but WordPress seems to hate Swagbucks. And obviously Charity. Bastards. :X

Help Japan… Using Swagbucks?

I’ve talked about Swagbucks before in a previous post – but one cool thing Swagbucks does that I really appreciate on a humanitarian/charitable level is… you can donate to various… well things. One being the Japan relief effort, and what with the continued aftershocks (and really, a 7+ point earthquake in most other places would be a huge one on its own) – so they’ve set up a place where you can donate all the swagbucks you’ve acquired, if you so choose. Or, some. Whatever you feel like doing.

Swagbucks is also doing a cool thing where if you sign up now, and use the code “HelpJapan” (you’ll see where to enter it on the sign up page) – you start out with an extra 50 swagbucks. Not bad. If you want to sign up, you can do that here: http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/limecello – sorry, you’ll have to do a copy and paste job – WordPress just hates Swagbucks. :

In other news, I’m still sick. Bleh – but! Finally getting a bit better. Swamped with just everything, surprising considering well, everything. And… I watched the film Peacock. And indie ish straight to video one? Anyone ever see it?

It’s got some rather big names – Susan Sarandon, Josh Lucas, Cillian Murphy, Ellen Page, and I’m sure many others who are just as famous that I simply don’t recognize. I’d love to discuss it with someone. I have the horrible talent of finding psychological thrillers that mess with my head. Can’t seem to quit them either.

Also I’m babbling so that’ll be enough for now. Cillian Murphy is ridiculously talented. I’d share the movie poster but I think it’s a bit too freaky/misleading… and anyway Cillian here is much better. Isn’t he coy, glancing at us like that?

I plan on doing a huge comments blitz and responding to everything once I’ve got this brief written. *crosses fingers* Um… I “just remembered” I’m headed to DC on Thursday… and in the meantime, this coming Tuesday is Maisey Yates’s Teaser Tuesday spot… one of my most favorite people ever, Ali F is guesting next Saturday… and then two weeks later, we have the awesome Roxanne St. Claire providing an exclusive excerpt to one of her books for the last Teaser Tuesday of the month.

And giveaway winners will be posted later (or were already listed in the comments) – as usual, up to you to check 😀

In summary: Swagbucks! Donate! Sick! Gone! Exciting posts! Movies! Discuss!

And since it’s 2:22 AM I’m so done.
