Happy St. Patrick’s Day with a Random Holiday Giveaway!

Everyone’s Irish today! 😉 I’ve done Chinese/the Lunar New Year, Arbor Day, and this year, I’m going with St. Patty’s Day! Really it’s perfect because I’m green. Limes generally are, you know 😉 Then there’s the fact that people often ask me if I’m Irish. It’s… funny. (I’m not, by the way.) I do, however, love a good Irish Pub – even the American versions of them. The best part is I don’t even drink beer. Somehow, it all works out.

I tried to think of books with green covers, or ones with Irish themes and all… but while browsing amazon, I came across Love at First Flight by Marie Force.

I re-read it on a whim a few days ago, and was up until 4 AM, because I couldn’t stop. I had to finish the whole thing. It just killed me. In fact, here’s an amazing quote.

“I’m only asking you for one thing, Juliana. Come find me. I’ll either be here or in Newport – you know where – and I’ll be waiting for you. I don’t care if it’s a week, a year, five years, twenty years. Find me.”
“But surely you’ll be married with a family -”
He shook his head. “Never. It’s you or no one. So don’t think for a minute I won’t still want you or that my pride is too wounded to forgive you. I’ve already forgiven you. That’s how much I love you.”

See? You want this book. Now, I know it’s St. Patrick’s Day and everything is supposed to be all green… and I tried to think of books with green covers, or ones with Irish themes… but – see this one is purple, and it’s complimentary color is green! So it’s perfect, right? And Michael? His family is Irish! A large Irish family that’s absolutely wonderful. It words for St. Patrick’s. (And it’s a free book so you’ll take it and you’ll like it.) 😛

You want proof? It’s very green. Totally Irish and St. Patrick’s-ey.

I hope all of you have a wonderful and lucky very green day. Go get yourself a Shamrock Shake from Mickey D’s. Eat some delicious corned beef with green beer, and all that good stuff.

So my questions are – how do you feel about St. Patrick’s Day? Have any special celebrations or customs?  Lastly, what random holiday should I celebrate with a giveaway next year? Answer these and you’re entered to win a lovely kindle copy of Love at First Flight. (It just makes sense, yes? St. Patty’s being the whole green holiday, and green living…)

It’s my spring break and so I’m reading & watching tv series like a mad woman, trying to get to all the good stuff I havent had time for and I sooo wasn’t going to enter this giveaway cuz really I have a list of books already waiting for me.
But dang if I didn’t read that quote and love it! And now I really want this book LOL So here goes:
I haven’t celebrated St.Patrick’s since grade school when you’d get pinched if you didn’t at least wear green; is that a common way to celebrate it? I’ve never thought to ask. But no customs or anything but I’m seriously curious about that shamrock shake.
Your next random holiday I vote you do Earth Day! that way u really Go Green:)

Bella, right?!?!?! Heck – I’ve read this book before and it still got me. I was all “gah!” and teary. It means that much more when you know the context!
Erm… no pinching. That happened to me in elementary school too/people said that… but it was never a big thing, thankfully. I look horrid in green. I miss potato pancakes etc… I should find some 😀 Next year though 😉

Earth Day could work – for Arbor Day I gave away an ebook too 😉

Earth Day is a good idea Bella! I think you should do Cinco de Mayo just because it sounds fun and think of all of the Latin lovers you could choose from in romance books!

I am on my own today because my husband is in the UK this week. I think I might go to the pub and get my corned beef and cabbage on. I don’t wear green clothes but I have chosen some green onyx jewelry to wear.

Stacie… Oooo Cinco de Mayo! America’s favorite holiday! 😉 Hahah – and good point. I think it’d be a great way to introduce some people to excellent Harlequin Presents books- which do exist!

Oh, sad you’re alone, but fun on the traditional(ish) pub meal! Sounds delicious! Well… :X not the cabbage part, I don’t really like it – I’d cheat by getting a rueben or something 😉

Okay that quote? awesome… kinda embarrassed made me teary.

I’m not really big on St Patrick’s Day. Barely own any green clothing and not a big drinker.

Flag Day is the only “random” holiday I can think of. LOL

I’m hanging out with my grandbaby. I’m going to feed her something green…..that counts. Right?

Let’s see, a good holiday for a giveaway next year? How about something like the Summer or Winter Solstice? Then you would have a whole range of books to select from.

Please I’m lucky if I remember to wear green (which I’m not). No traditions. No green beer (yuck). No nothing. It is another day the kids have homework. (I’m totally cheery today) 🙂

I barely know the holidays this year. You can’t ask me about next year already. lol Please don’t enter me. I am not a Kindle peep.

St. Patrick Days, really I do not celebrate it. I always have fun trying to make certain my two oldest boys, who are in school, wear green.

Hubby, he is from the Chicago area, and he remembers the city dying the river there green every year. He said that it’s that way all summer and then by winter it’s back to normal only for them to be dying it again.

I like the idea of the Soltices. It’s a holiday you really don’t see too much emphasis on.

I have a bit or Irish in me but I don’t do anything super special. I like to get out all my green gee-gaws. Any excuse to wear funky ribbons and flashy light up things that otherwise would get me those “she’s a wackadoodle” looks. I do the same for Valentine’s and Christmas, and Easter…heck any holiday that allows me to “bedazzle” myself.

For a random Holiday you could always do Talk like a Pirate day. Argh, me matey. LOL. Ok well on your reccomendation even if I don’t win this I so want this book.

I like St Paddy’s day. Only wear green and cook corned beef and cabbage.
The random holiday for next year could be Sadie Hawkins Day

I don’t celebrate St.paddys because I work on 5th avenue in NYC…its ruined for me due to the insanity of the day. Being partially irish I do try to make corn beef for dinner with potatoes and cabbage.

I think that you should celebrate Pulaski Day… a polish holiday.

I don’t want this book because I already have it and LOVED it. PLEASE go read Everyone Loves a Hero and her other two that are HIDING on AMAZON for REALLY CHEAP (ebooks at least). I CRIED at them! I am forgetting their names but put her name into Amazon and you will get them.

Plus her newest police series is pretty good.
