Megan Hart and Olivia Gates? Winner(s)? Giveaways?

Well, anyway, yes, both Megan Hart and Olivia Gates have and are doing giveaways at my blog. And um, they both write for Harlequin?

So remember Megan’s guest post and silly interview from Tuesday? Her winner is June M.! June, please email me by Thursday October 13 (using the contact form above) with your address so we can get you your prize!

Now? A massive giveaway from the fabulous Olivia Gates! I have thirteen of her books to give away! Originally it was the winner’s choice of her back list. That might still be the case, but I don’t want to presume. Olivia will clarify – she’s totally swamped right now – her computer died and she lost everything on it, poor thing. There are thirteen books up to grab, because thirteen of these people didn’t claim their prizes. Olivia being the amazingly kind and generous person she is said she still wants to give them away, so all of you have the chance to benefit!

So – thirteen winners is a big deal, yeah? Consequently I have to ask something good. How about… in all seriousness – do you read category romances? Why or why not? And if yes, which line(s) do you like most and who are your favorite authors? If no… what romance tropes are your favorites?

Heh. I was tempted to make you all tell me how smart and pretty I am. πŸ˜› But you know… liars go to hell and all, so … :X can’t have that on my conscience.

Anyway, ready, set, GO! (Oh, and if anything changes – or if I have anything to clarify with Olivia’s giveaway I’ll write it in the comments.)

*ETA: It’ll depend on responses etc, number, content, all that good stuff. I can give away 13 of Olivia Gates’s books now… or hold on to them. Or make this contest go on longer. We’ll see. That’s the lovely thing about having my own blog. I can’t win anything… but I do at least get to set the rules. πŸ™‚

I love erotic romance and all the genre it branches out to…*S* I love the different levels of heat and the emotional connections the reader can make witht he characters and the story….*S*
I hope Olivia gets her computer up and running soon. I had mine crash the week before Labor day and it was barely over a year old. My DH got on the phone with HP. When they refuse to repair without a $500.00 price tag, plus our daughter who has the exact laptop had been sitting for 2 months crashed and they wanted another $350.00, my DH hit the roof. He called their corporate office and let them have it with both barrels. He knows electronics and did research and discovered our model has big flaws. Needless to say our 2 laptops went out the next day and were back with 7 days with no fee. Can I say…don’t lay down and take it…fight back take it to the corporate level.

Thank you again for the giveaway!

I do read the category romances – they are so much fun! Silhouette Desires are great & just a bit steamier than Harlequin Presents which I also enjoy (they can be a bit like an armchair travel). Also Harlequin Historicals. They are shorter books so you get to the HEA that much faster.

I have read a few Harlequin Blaze over the years and I like them. I don’t have any particular favorite authors.

Boss/Secretary is one of my fav tropes. Help me, it’s just decadently, wickedly, awesome. πŸ™‚

I love category romance books. I’ve been reading them for to many years to count. I read Harlequin Blaze, Presents, Intrigue, Romantic Suspense, Desire, Nocturne, and really all of the Harlequin line. I like Jill Shalvis, Margaret Way,Jane Porter,Miranda Lee,Helen Bianchin,Lynn Graham,Lindsay McKenna,Linda Conrad and of course Olivia Gates. That’s just to name a few. I enjoy the connected storylines in all the series. I like the shorter stories because I can usually finish them faster without interruption.

Historical romance is my favorite genre and I read both series from Harlequin as well as authors who writec individual and books that are part of a trilogy or “series” or trilogy.

Occasionally I stray and read regular “fiction” books including historical fiction and I also read time-travel, etc. It comes down to the author and my mood at the time I’m looking for a book. I love finding new authors and reading stories from a differnet point of view. Sometimes I’ll also go on a kick and read a slew of mysteries from one author of connected books as well.

I love following blogs and reading reviews because it has offered up all different types of authors and genres that I hadnt’ tried before and end of loving and recommending to others.

I don’t usually read categories but recently I’ve tried Maya Banks Pregnancy and Passion (I think that’s the name) series which are categories from Harlequin. I mostly liked the first and will be trying the rest when they come out. I’ve read an enjoyed Harlequin Blaze and Intrigue and a few other imprints. I don’t discriminate! πŸ˜‰

I read all sorts of romance books. Harlequin Blaze and Historicals are probably my favorite and when I am in the mood for just those types of books it’s easy enough to find exactly what I am looking for and get those. I also am obsessed with Paranormal Romance right now.

    Congrats to June!

Category Romances…I hardly ever pick them up. I don’t know if it’s the titles that seem sometimes silly, or that they are shorter…..or just the silly covers from way back that I can’t seem to forget, but I don’t read them that often even though I know it is the majority of what some romance readers read. I have read a few, and the ones that I did I’ve really enjoyed. It seems like the only ones that I have read were by authors who also wrote non category romances so I read it because they wrote it more than anything. It’ll be interesting to see what everyone else says.

Yes, I read catagory romances. Of course, truth be told, I just plain love to read so I will try almost anything once. I like paranormal, sci-fi, fantasy, etc, etc…. I like the surprise baby, long lost love, historical western, mid-life, love after loss….You get the picture. Why do I like them? Well, they are somewhat predictable. I like to occasionally read a book where I know the setup going in. I don’t always need to be challenged by what I read!
    Thanks for the giveaway!

Harlequin/Silhouette books were my introduction to romance novels. LOL. I had an aunt that devoured them and shared. πŸ™‚ I’ll admit to straying – I’ve been more of a single-title girl over the past few years. I’ve gotten re-introduced to category, not so much due to the lines themselves, but because of their amazing authors. I met Blaze author Candace Havens at RWA and she’s the reason I rediscovered the Blaze line. I adore Maya Banks, so I’ve read her latest Harlequin Desire. They’re a quick, fun read!

I started out with category romance back when Harlequin Presents debuted (yes I am old) but I shifted to thicker stand-alones for awhile, but now I am back to category romance if I have read the author before or I chat with them on line or in person. My favorites are Blaze or Intrigue.

I read all kinds of category books Presents, Blaze, Historicals, American Romance, Romantic Suspense, Desire. I recently tried an Inspirational. I read Harlequin and the old Silhouette lines. Also loved the old Love Swept which I hear is coming back.

I love them because they are quick easy reads to take along when you have to wait for some one, wait for an appointment, or for your children. They’re small fit in my purse or back pocket. They take me to exotic places, into hot sexy situations or scary escapes. They give you a bit of every type of romance theme you could want. They are a bit cheaper to but too.

    Favorite lines: Presents, and Blaze

I have had so many authors that I’ve loved over the years

Authors: Betty Neels, ,Lynne Graham,Carol Mortimore,Nicola Marsh,Susan Mallery,Heidi Betts,Barbara Dunlop,Jill Shalvis, Cathy Williams, Susan Stephens, Joanne Rock, Rozanne St Claire, Susan McMinn, Diana Palmer, Margaret Way, Lyndsay Stephens, Jillian Hart, Merline Lovelace, Alison Kent,Diana Hamilton,Catherine Spencer, Kim Lawrence, Helen Biachin, Penny Jordan, Lyndsay McKenna, Carol Marinelli, Jo Leigh, Miranda Lee, Margaret Way, Lisa Jackson, Heather Graham Sandra Brown, Nora Roberts, Gina Wilkens, Nicola Cornick, Victoria Bylin, Pam Crooks, Margaret Moore, Maya Banks…

Thanks for the chance to win a book by Olivia gates. I can’t remember reading any of her books yet.

I will admit that I’m a Harlequin ho. I subscribe to all the lines that they have through Reader Service. Blaze and Historicals are on my Nook. Desire’s will start next month and Intriques, Medical Romances, Love Inspired Suspense and Romantic Suspense are still in book form. I love all of them. It would take too much space to list the authors that I love from Harlequin. My hubby calls them my “smut” book, loving/jokingly because his Baptist grandmother read the Presents line.

My review blog is named for Harlequin. πŸ™‚

Olivia Gates is my go to for anything that deals with a Sheik. Love, love her sheiks. Thanks for the giveaway Olivia and I hope that you can recover some if not all of your stuff.

I do read category romances mainly because they are a quick read. I usually read any of the titles Silhouette and Harlequin put out except paranormals and erotica. I especially love the millionaire series – don’t we all wish a millionaire could fall in love with us? I’m not particular about authors but once I read a few from one I like I do search out others of their writings.

I started reading Harlequin Romances when I was 14. I prefer Desires and Presents now. although, I tend to focus on authors these days. I LOVE Olivia and will read anything of hers.

I also like the different sub-genres in Romance – paranormal, historical, suspense. I’ve been on a paranormal kick lately. I just read all of Gena Showalter’s “Lord’s of the Underworld”.

I love the series like that, Olivia Gates “Pride of Zohayd” trilogy (Harres and Talia’s story is now an all-time fav), Nora Robert’s MacGregor’s, etc.

Waiting anxiously for Olivia Gates next book!
