Guess What Just Turned One?

This blog! Crazy how quickly that happened right?

I’ve actually been blogging continuously for a decade now. >.> Maybe. If I’m old enough. (Kidding.) I joined LJ back when you still needed an invite to be part of it. (Don’t bother looking – this citrus fruit has had a number of name changes even since joining the online romance community in ~’05.) I started this blog, however, for various reasons. The desire to strike out on my own. Also because of various reasons that are truly unimportant in the grand scheme of things and simply whiny or gossipy.

If I could, I’d give someone the prize of a soda stream – aka the current love of my life. Unfortunately that’s crazy out of my budget. (You guys need to click more buy links on my blog! ;)) Uh… so I’m in a weird mood and maybe should not be typing this up right now. Ah well.

I’ve been playing around with what to give away… if anything. I mean… I thought about this one “infinity” pearl necklace I bought a while ago. (I’ve never worn it!) Or something from MyHabit. Or… that I should just buy me something and post a picture of it, with “Happy Blogiversary to me, Bitches!” Heh.

I thought about doing a run through on how many of what type of posts I did. I had way more than 12 author guests. I want to say I had at least 12 reader guests as well. I know I had 3 readers post their very first ever blog post here! Which I think is super cool. A bunch of exclusive excerpts and giveaways… and a painfully low number of reviews. Also… a drop off of images used. Too much fear with copyright or whatever or crazycakes. And time – lack of that one. (*Who knows. I might update this post at some point in the future to reflect the stats. … Don’t hold your breath though.)

Speaking of – anyone interested in writing reviews here? Nothing really to offer you other than you sharing your love of books with others. If so, please use the contact form to send me a sample – follow the “template”/format of the few reviews that have been posted here.

Anyway, I foresee much of the same. I’m still determined to feed Shannon Stacey and her family… and I’d like to write more reviews this year. Although with that, post a “Grading Scale” somewhere. (I think we’re “stricter” here than other places. No grade inflation in this Tart and Sweet world!)

So what’d you think of this year? Any positives from my little blog? Anything I should change? Is there any chance I can tempt you lurkers to come out and comment? I’d love to know who you all are!

And… what you’d like to win, actually. A guest spot? A feature? Books? A GC? Radio silence from yours truly? Let me know – I wanna try to make it happen!

Thank you so much, Liz! You are absolutely too kind. And you’re going to like…. give me an overinflated sense of self! O_o Hee.

I wish there were more people out there like *you!* You’re more than welcome to come and write a guest post – or a regularly scheduled post – at my blog whenever you want! (In fact I wish you would. No pressure though!) Xoxo

    Lime –
Happy Birthday! I can’t wait to see what you accomplish in 2012! I love your posts because their unique as well as informative.

As far as “what would you liek to win” my answer would be books, books and more books! I don’t care if they are a “real” book or for my Kindle and I don’t care if they are new or “gentley read”. If you get a book for a review are you allowed to share it with your best friends like us. We could even do a follow-up review or a “rating” in exchange!

Good luck on a great year in 2012!

Jeanne – thank you! Hehehe is “unique” a nicer way to say “freaking off the wall crazy”? ๐Ÿ˜‰ Cuz…. that might be okay too. Maybe.

You know what? If I got ARCs I’d share them. If they were print. But the truth is? I don’t get books for review. O_O No – seriously. HEY! You’re also because you also just totally legitimized me for not writing reviews! *clings*

[But alas the point is… I don’t get books. : I do give them away, however! Like 10:1 for giving to receiving in my case. Hope that counts/helps!]

Congratulations on the one year anniversary of your blog! As much as I love giveaways I agree with Liz … buy yourself something if you want. =)

I look forward to seeing what you have in store for the blog this year!

Happy blogiversary! (and yes those soda things are wicked expensive but so cool) Remember those crazy TV shows where someone would get three minutes to grab as much stuff as they wanted in a store and they’d get to keep it? That’s what I want in a book store. Could you image? It would be awesome. See and you thought the soda machine was expensive. ๐Ÿ™‚ Looking forward to spending 2012 with the blog.

Avery – I know they’re awesome! My sister gave my dad one for Christmas and I’m like OMG WANT. HAH. Girl – if I could afford the 3 minutes in a bookstore I’d totally do that. In fact, I promise you now. If ever I win the lottery, I promise to have that as a giveaway!

LOVE that idea! (Did the person get a shopping cart? … Do bookstores *have* shopping carts? O_o)

Happy Anniversary, Lime! I don’t need any prizes, but I appreciate you helping me draw attention to my charitable cause, the Lakota children. And, you know, hosting me on the blog. That, too!

Thank YOU Sarah for getting the ball rolling! I’d love to do something like that again in 2012. I’m definitely doing my massive annual “SMSG” drive, but you know, other things are good too! (Also because I try to make the SMSG thing an international organization for our international friends.)
And of course you’re welcome back any time!

Got quite the chuckle from โ€œHappy Blogiversary to me, Bitches!โ€

Mm, prizes – Gift cards are always nice. Though my luck in actually winning them are slim to none. Books of course but then I’m extremely pick when it comes to authors I read and such.

Here is hoping for many years.

Thanks so much, Raonaid! Yes… giftcards can be pleasant, can’t they? I think I might have figured out a proper solution for you though! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Stay tuned! *cue… well not ominous music….*

Happy Blogiversary! I would probably go with a gift card myself. They are always great cause you can use them to purchase whatever books you want or save them to use for a larger purpose.

Have a wonderful second year! Can’t wait to see what is to come.

Lime, go with a card to the winner that says “A pound of Godiva chocolate has been consumed in your honor”.

Or how about a donation in the winner’s name?

Or just send me Hugh Jackman!

HAHAHAHAH Mary – I would totally send that card to you. ๐Ÿ˜€ A donation is a good idea. I’ve thought of it before. (But then sometimes you just want something for *you* yanno?)

Girl, if I could send you Hugh Jackman, I totally would! It’d be worth it just for the hilarious awesome (possibly scary) stories you’d have to share! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Happy anniversary to your blog! Very funny post. I like to get books as prizes, especially from authors that are new to me. Since I signed on to your blog, I’ve really enjoyed the author interviews and your slice-of-my-life point of views (especially your big heart for charitable causes). And I really enjoyed doing the reviews for you and look forward to doing more. I hope 2012 is even better for you. And if you send Hugh Jackman to Mary, can you please send me Vin Diesel? ๐Ÿ™‚

Liz, thank you so much! <3 <3 <3 I hope to do more reviews this year. I pretend I will. Also that I'll play catch up on reviews from … I don't even want to say when. (It's beyond embarrassing and quickly moving into "shameful" territory.)

If I ever get the chance to send Mary Hugh Jackman I PROMISE to send you Vin Diesel! And just so you ladies know, Henry Cavill is all mine.

Congratulations on your blog turning one. I checked in sometime during the year but don’t remember how I found you. I’ve commented when I’ve liked the blog/guest/prize and actually won a print copy of a book this year.
I would keep your format the same unless you really feel you have to mix things up.
Here’s to an even better year 2!

I was also teasing/trying to be funny but it fell flat. :X That’s okay though cuz I’m hyper! And it’s the interwebz! ๐Ÿ˜€ Thank you so much for clarifying though! <3 I love that you visit my blog and I really appreciate it!!!

I’m not a lurker, but I am posting anyway. Happy Blogiversary, Lime! Hope you have many more! I love your site. You always manage to keep us entertained with your posts and guest authors and you are great with special causes. I would like to see gift cards and more books given away in 2012. I was lucky enough to win a book from one of your guest authors in 2011 and loved the post and book. Other than that, buy yourself a present, and show a picture of it with the title “Happy Blogiversary to me, Bitches!” Love it! Here’s to you in the New Year!!!!

The funniest thing I’ve read all week: “Orโ€ฆ that I should just buy me something and post a picture of it, with โ€œHappy Blogiversary to me, Bitches!โ€ Heh.”

    LOL Doooo iiiiit!

I’ve really liked the guest bloggers. It’s nice to get to know the authors and find new books and authors to stalk…erm..I mean to love ๐Ÿ™‚ but not a lot of blogs feature their readers the way you have been doing by letting them have a voice on their blog and guest blogging. I t was fun to read what other readers wanted to talk about if given the chance.

Happy Blogaversary…buy yourself something nice and let us know what it was.

Mary you tempt me! Although I don’t know what I’d get myself. It’d have to be something good – and worthy of the hype. Also, incredibly … something, because my net worth is really far in the negatives. Yay for education!

I’m so glad you like the reader posts too! I’ve made a concentrated effort in making sure I always have *at least* one reader post a month. I like having balance and it was SUPPOSED to be 1:1 in authors to readers but… well it’s hard to get readers to talk!
