Blogiversary Guest: Sasha White

Friends I cannot believe that it’s 2015!!! In fact just writing that I first typed 2014! Meep! Goodbye ’14 and good riddance! But beyond the new year, the more important thing is that … ALBTALBS TURNS FOUR!!!! WHEE!! I just… things were crazy and I thought whatever and put out a call on social media, and Sasha White was totally awesome and all “hey I’ll play!” and I was like YAY! And this is what happened!

Its ALBTALBS ANNIVERSARY!!!

Sasha WhiteCongratulations to Limecello for sticking with this, and giving us all a place to hang out. Im thrilled to be part of the anniversary party, so Thanks for having me because Ive got a question for yall.

Is anyone else confused about why January is the start of the new year?

Im sure theres some scientific reason for it, but what Im getting at is this. January isnt really the start of anything, its the middle of winter, so why is it the start of a new year? Why not wait until May, and have May be the start of the new year, since thats when everything is new and shiny after the snow melts and rain washes away the dust? Thats a new season, and a new beginning. Wouldnt that make more sense as the start of a year?

PrimalThe theres birthdays. Dont we all think, This year Im going to. when we celebrate a birthday?

I dont always follow through with every thing..sort of like new years resolutions. Only I dont make New Years resolutions anymore since I figured out I tend to make them all year long. They really should be new Season resolutions, dont you think? I mean, Im not the only one who does this all year long, am I?

Then again, new beginnings can really be any time you want them to be, cant they? I mean, as a writer, I have a new beginning every time I start a new story. Its not just the story that is new, because after more than a decade as a professional author, Ive unintentionally developed a few rituals surrounding that beginning. While getting ready to start a new project, I clean my house, and clean my office, often rearranging furniture and organizing closets. Its like spring cleaning, but I do it every couple of months. So theres a few new beginnings there.

CarnalSo, in light of this train of though I have a couple questions for you all.

1) Do you ever wonder why January is the start of the new year? or Do you know why January is the start of the new year?

2) Do you make new years resolutions?

3) Are you excited for 2015? If yes, why?

Lets start this party off with a bang, hmm? Answer any one of these questions, or ask me a question, in the comments and be entered to win a $40 Gift Card for All Romance eBooks and OmniLit Books!! Thatll get your eReader loaded up a bit hmm?

I love Sasha’s books and am really enjoying the Overwatch series so far – like all her books, they’re VERY hot, and I’m so happy to know Carnal is coming in March (yay!)

No resolutions for me – I did them at my birthday 😉 I’m looking forward to 2015 because there are so many amazing books coming out!!!

Hi Kimberley, I’m so glad you’re enjoying the series so far. It’s the first time I’ve deliberately set things up as a series, and I admit, it’s taken mea bit to get the hang o f it. I just want to tell everyones story at once. LOL

      And yay for Birthday resolutions!!:)

I have never given it any thought as to why January is the start of the New Year. To me it is just a continuation that requires I learn to use a new year on my checks! For that reason, I don’t make New Year resolutions. I feel like you should constantly reassess and make changes throughout the year.

Beginning in the 16th century, European countries began officially making January 1 the start of the New Year once again—sometimes called Circumcision Style because this was the date of the Feast of the Circumcision, being the seventh day after December 25.
I am going to try to read more this year
I am excited to be going to TNEE in Las Vegas as I’ve never been there.

I dont know if I’m too late but since I love Sasha and just saw she was here like a minute ago, I will answer:
The January thing comes from some Roman God thing (30 years ago when I was in school I could detail it for you, but that’s all I got today LOL)
Do I make resolutions? Yes, but I also make them all the time during the year so I dont think they’re special.
Am I looking forward to 2015? Well, sure, do I have a choice? lol It’s coming whether I like it or not … right>? lol 🙂

    Happy Blogiversary!

I have no idea why January is the beginning of the year. I’ve stopped making resolutions. I tend to completely forget what I’ve resolved probably 10 minutes after deciding it so what’s the point. As for how excited I am about 2015? Pretty much every day is SSDD for me so I guess if anything exciting happens, then yay but as far as I know there isn’t anything exciting for me to anticipate at this point. Not counting your next book of course 🙂

This is the 3rd year I’ve decided to stick to the same resolution. I make sure I meditate at least once a day, and I have stuck to it. It seriously has helped my anxiety a crapton. Happy 2015 to you both!
