Dreams of the Past by Laura Hunsaker
Contemporary romance published by Laura Hunsaker on January 12, 2021
She needs rest, he needs relaxation…
Jenny Travers wants a fresh start. Leaving the nightmares of her past behind her, she heads to Last Chance Beach. Renting the Sea Glass Cottage sounds peaceful and relaxing, which is exactly what she needs.
What she doesn’t need is a man.
Lieutenant Commander Scott Gordon was injured by an IED on his last mission, and while his leg has healed, it’ll never be strong enough to stay on his SEAL team. Renting the Sea Glass Cottage sounds like the perfect place to figure out how he’s going to handle his new normal.
He never expected to find a woman in his bed.
A mix-up at the rental agency means Jenny and Scott are both renting the small cottage. Sharing a space with a stranger should be hard, yet they both feel more at peace than they have in months.
Will their summer romance last, or is the magic of Sea Glass Cottage all they’ll have…
I mean OMG there’s only one bed. ONE BED!
In Dreams of the Past, we have your typical forced proximity story of two strangers and one bed. Now we all know that either stranger could walk out of the building at any time. I mean they aren’t snowed in, they’re stubborn.
Jenny Travers has a past. A Dark Past if you’ve read the first book. And she has dreams about it. I’m assuming that’s where the title came from? Well she has nightmares about her dark past, and while she’s heading to the beach town of Last Chance Beach to kind of regroup and relax, she wakes up to a man standing over her bed. A hot, sexy, looks like bearded Chris Evans type man.
Since we all know that no one can resist bearded Chris Evans, how can we expect Jenny to resist? I mean yeah of course she’s scared at first but this is not real life, it’s bearded Chris Evans. So she lets him stay, and she makes sure he stays on his side of the bed. But does she stay on her own side?
Bearded Chris Evans, I mean, Scott Gordon is a Navy SEAL. He’s been injured and is taking some time to reflect on growing his beard, I mean on what he’s going to do with his life. He rents out the…you know what’s coming…the same beach house that Jenny did!
I know right?!
They’re each too stubborn to leave the double-booked beach cottage, so they have to share a bed, I mean, that’s like number one in the Romancelandia Book of Rules that I just made up right now. Oh and abs. Those are definitely rule number two. This story has the most abs. It has abs upon abs. In fact, they’re no longer abs, they’re one big super ab. He is Navy SEAL McSuperAb and he’s here to save you from your bad dreams.
And while they share the bed, it’s like a magic bed that causes them to trust a stranger in the dark and pour out their past traumas. This magic bed causes people to fall in love every dang time.
Jenny and Scott fall in love and drink coffee while enjoying the magic bed. And they live happily ever after. That’s actually probably the number one rule in my pretend Romancelandia Book of Rules, that HEA. But still.
*Warning: this book contains romance, happiness, and you may end up pregnant after reading it. Oh wait, no, I meant, you may end up enjoying yourself for an hour.

That was fun.

Who could resist?
Ha! Hilarious! And I can’t imagine anyone ever resisting bearded Chris Evans. I like forced proximity stories, and I like stubborn characters. Sounds like my kind of book!
Sounds like a fun read. Who can resist abs?
Oh, this put a smile on my face. Thanks!
Thank you for having me, Lime! I had fun with this:)
