I know right? We just can’t get rid of her. đ Yes, she’s almost becoming a regular, isn’t she? Welcome Vivian Arend back, you guys! And stick with us – she’s got quite the giveaway going on today! đ
Nothing can strike fear into my heart these days like the dreaded âwhat do you want for supper?â question. Itâs usually asked at eight a.m., and how in the world should I know then what Iâll want for dinner?
See, when I was in charge of the cooking, life was much simpler. Sometimes I made a menu planâusually I did have at least a basic idea of what would be served throughout the week based on fridge/freezer contents. By the end of the week I knew I had to use up the broccoli before it sprouted pretty yellow flowers, and that there was leftover rice to make pudding, or jambalaya, orâŠwhatever.
But when it was around three p.m. I would start thinking about what I âreally- wanted to eat. And the lasagna Iâd considered briefly that morning could get bumped in favour of the creamy mushroom soup that I simply had to have because my taste buds were screaming for it.
Flavours matter. Not just in food, but in books.
Some times I like the salty angst of a contemporary that makes me cry. Sometimes the extra spicy of aâwell spicy book. And then thereâs the sweetâŠ
As an author who dabbles in writing a lot of genres, my Granite Lake Wolves are the sticky, fun part of my work. Not to say I donât enjoy the cowboys, or the other contemporaries, because I do. But writing the light-hearted wolfies just makes me grin.
Every time I slow in my writing I get to ask myself âwhat twist can I throw at them now?â and oh boy, the fridge and freezer seem to be full of all kinds of lovely things that fit my taste buds.
June 12, 2012, book 5 in the series releases. Wolf Line continues the tradition of low-angst, high-humour. A short respite from the realities of the world, with ingredients from the shelf like cruise ship, mistaken identities, mating fever and fancy jewelry.
For the moments when you want a touch of something more dessert-like.
RT Book Reviews:Â Reading Arend is like traversing the rainforest: Youâll be drenched and basking in the glow. Wolf Line is brimming with adventure, sopping in steam and bursting with life. Arend doesnât overplay her hand delivering humor and romance, making this an entertaining read.

Wolf Line
Granite Lake Wolves, Book 5
Into the best-laid plans a little chaos must fallâŠ
Jaredâs not sure how his quiet morning coffee near the harbour ended with him on a cruise ship impersonating one of his pack mates. Well, it might have something to do with a woman, but who can blame him? The female of the species was made to love, and heâs more than willing to share his considerable skills in that area. Especially since he figures the chances of meeting his own one-and-only are slim.
Keri Smith is positive the last-minute recruit sneaking aboard the Arctic Wolf Cruise Lines tour is her mate. Ix-nay on confirming that, though, at least for the next ten days. Sheâs promised her best friend to be overall troubleshooter for the shifter-only cruise. Getting tangled up in mating lust would reduce her skills to nil. Avoidance of the sexy wolf for the duration of the cruise, followed by jumping his bones, seems the logical solution.
But when libidos are on the line, âlogicâ and âwolvesâ donât go together. Throw in suspicions of wrongdoing, and these two virtual strangers will need a lot more than luck to find their way through to forever.
Warning: Really? You need to be warned about the hot nookie and sarcasm? Yeah, itâs in here. Also colourful cat shifters, lupine royalty, and wild adventures in cabins like youâve never seen before.

Vivian Arend in one word: Adventurous. In a sentence: Willing to try just about anything once. That wide-eyed attitude has taken her around North America, through parts of Europe, and into Central and South America, often with no running water.
Her optimistic outlook also meant that when challenged to write a book, she gave it a shot, and discovered creating worlds to play in was nearly as addictive as traveling the real one. Now a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of both contemporary and paranormal stories, Vivian continues to explore, write and otherwise keep herself well entertained.
