Changes! And Swagstuff!

And I totally lost my train of thought. I meant to do this on Saturday. Then Tuesday. And both days time got away from me and now I cannot for the life of me remember what the third thing was.

So, first of all, changes are reviews! They’re going to be happening! I haven’t quite set a schedule yet. (As the “team” hasn’t been finalized. Nor requests. A work in progress, here!)

Secondly… more posts. Different posts! I know some [all] of you were like “more giveaways!” and I agree. Who doesn’t like a good giveaway? Nobody. That’s who. But – this blog was getting a little… :X author heavy, don’t you think? As I’ve said my intention was never to make this a promo blog. So, more reader contributions are in the works. (Which is also why I decided to pursue reviewing more seriously.)

I’m thinking Monday for reviews. I like it. I also plan on [pre?] dating one for February, once I re-read the book so it’s fresher in my memory. We’ll see about frequency.

But! You have a choice for the rest! As you know I’m working on starting a feature on male romance readers. And I’m also going to have a friend do random posts on… make up! [Cuz she refuses to talk about books because she’s a hater like that.] Anyway, said person is Jen B., otherwise known as Jen the Ginger Kid, and we can come up with a different name for her because I know there’s another equally awesome Jen B. who is a frequent visitor here. I like JTGK, personally.

My point is – what day would you like to see additional posts? Any preference at all, say it now or forever hold your peace!

Now! On to Swagbucks! I talk about them every so often. WTF is Swagbucks you ask? It’s a virtual dollar on the web. WordPress also always strips my links and yet I try. I try. The thing is, I’ve made quite a bit of spending money from them. At no cost to myself. You can earn rewards for doing things you normally would online. I’ve written a post about it even, trying to explain the basic ins and outs.

So it’s Swagbucks’s birthday come Monday. They’re doing this whole extravaganza and 130 in SB codes will be up for grabs, which kills me because I won’t be at my computer for prime SB winning time. You can “join the party” by copying and pasting the link I will put in the comments. (Sorry, unhosted wordpress sites don’t allow for affiliate links.) Up for grabs is $1,000! And you might say “but Lime – nobody ever wins those things!” I have. I’ve been really lucky. It definitely wasn’t 1K, but it was enough to make me happy. (A grand would make me really happy.)

If you haven’t signed up – you totally should do so. AND if you do want to sign up – before you complete the process, there’s a “enter swag code” line – contact me. I have a code you can enter to start you off with 140 additional swagbucks. Quick note, 450 SBs gets you a $5 Amazon GC. 625 SB’s gets you a $5 B&N GC. (Yeah I dunno why the disparity, but whatever. If you sign up with the code, you’re 1/3 of the way to a $5 Amazon giftcard!) What’s also cool is… if you want your ‘net usage to be altruistic? You can donate your swagbucks to charity as well! The code is good through February 27th, and worth 110 SB’s. (You normally start out with 30, which is how I got to 140.)

To all of you who have already signed up… I’m sorry. I keep asking the guy to give us codes. So, maybe some day. Or he’ll cut me off. One of the two. Let’s hope for the former.

And that’s all!

Recap:

A. Reviews to be regularly posted!

B. Girly stuff coming! Let me know what days you’d like to see additional posts!

C. Swagbucks Birthday Bash!

p.s. Thea Harrison had the whim idea yesterday (or the day before?) on twitter to do a feature on men who read romance – you can see it here – so you know – if there are any reading unicorns here lurking about, join her badass bunch!

Winners!!! And – Your Call

So – I’ve noticed :X recently for some posts it’s ~2 weeks until the winner is announced. Do you guys care about that? Would you prefer the winners be announced weekly? If you want them weekly, I guess it’d be every … Saturday? So if there are giveaways for each post – Tuesday and Thursday’s winners would be chosen, and Saturday would be carried over to the next week/announcement.

Or… if there’s no preference we’ll carry on as we have. Which is me doing my best and muddling through.

NB: I don’t email winners. It’s everyone’s responsibility to check back to see if s/he has won. [Which might impact answers? Only extenuating circumstances would cause me to email people. Like the winners for the SMSG giveaway.]

First of all … this post. She Whose Name Must Not Be Written. Can y’all believe there are still people who don’t get the point? *shakes head* I just… well. Demerits and all to that bunch. I loved everyone’s comments – on that post and the previous one. (Yeah, it annoys me so much I blogged about it twice.) However, even though I thought everyone’s thoughts were fabulous, there were two stand outs for me. So instead of one, I chose two winners! Avery Flynn’s comment and Pam‘s comment. If you missed them you’ve simply got to read them. Avery and Pam, please contact me and we’ll discuss prizes.

Alexandra Hawkins is our “guest author of the month” as it were – and she very generously offered two winners their choice of her books. These lucky readers are Mary Preston and Maureen.

Leslie Dicken also shared a lovely post with us, complete with giveaway. Her winner is Renee Brown! Renee I believe this is [only] available in electronic format at the moment, so all we need is your email address.

Mari Freeman is one of the “official authors” at AAD (which *sniffs* I’m not going to be at…) and she shared a crazy first date and New Orleans story! Her winner is June M. And if you didn’t see June’s comment… it’s worth a look see, simply for the O_o factor.

Jill Sorenson shared an awesome exclusive excerpt of her upcoming novel with us, and chose a winner for one of her books. Lisa B, if you didn’t see, you’re to contact Jill (jillsoren1@aol.com.) to claim your prize.

And! Last but not least! Myke Cole came and shared his thoughts on the romance genre with us. He chose the first three commenters, so Raonaid Luckwelljayceedelorenzo, and Sasha Devlin, congratulations!

Everyone who won something – email me your address and prize please and we’ll get those out to you. [You see how I very kindly linked to each relevant post so you can check what you won if you don’t remember?] If you get a choice of a book, please let me know which one you want. Of course if you won an ebook your address is unnecessary.

And – in case navigation isn’t your strong suit 😉 here’s how to contact me. You have until Saturday, February 25, at 11:59 PM EST to contact me and claim your winnings. Otherwise they’re forfeit. Because I’m mean like that.

:X Sorry – we ended on something of a snarky note, didn’t we? It’s 2 AM here… and just – lots of stupidity has been frustrating me. Real life, world situations, and then just… apparently people. You know how it is!

Winners + “Administrative Stuff”

Doesn’t that sound all serious? And… high brow? I was going to say “Winner and Admin Shiz” but that seems a bit too lowbrow even for me. Is it weird it feels “wrong” to say “shit” here? O_o in fact? Who here swears? Do you mind swearing? My “potty mouth” varies. On my mood, my company… and who am I kidding. My mood.

OH! I also totally lost my train of thought. So – my thing is… this blog gets away from me. (Why do you think I have so many guests? Well, also because I know you kids love giveaways. Who doesn’t? And… I can’t handle all that. I wish I could give away stuff constantly, but me, myself, and I aren’t equipped for it, so I find other awesome people willing and able to step up. :D)

OKAY. The point is – if I ever forget to announce a winner? (Or do anything else.) Gimme a nudge. Leave a comment asking if a winner has been chosen. Email. Tweet. Whatever. I won’t be offended. Promise. (Well, unless you’re a dick about it. Nobody likes a douche-canoe, so just don’t be one! … And not so much an issue here since we’ve already established all of you are super nice and awesome and I’m kinda wondering why you even hang out with me…)

And now that you’ve stuck with me so long – here is the winner! (No images – I’ve basically given up on that. But just you wait for the day I have like… a stylus or something and draw. Or don’t wait for that. Nobody wants to see it. Really.)

The winner of a print back list book from Portia Da Costa is Regina Ross! Regina please email Portia (portiadacosta@gmail.com) with your book choice and address – as well as a mention somewhere of this blog so she knows what this is about. 😉 Thanks and enjoy!

ETA:  Also – if you didn’t win this time – no worries, Abigail Barnette’s giveaway is still open. And… JS Wayne announced his winner in the comments of his post.

Winners!

Remember when I gave y’all dangerous free reign to ask me anything? I’m actually a bit surprised, and grateful at the same time. 😉 Nobody asked me anything scandalous or embarrassing. Whew!

Well, this time I used randomizer.org*, and the winners of that giveaway are Liz and JoAnne! Liz – please send me your email, and we’ll work out an ebook for you to get. JoAnne, you are to email me your address please so your prize is sent out to you. Isn’t that fortuitous? It worked out perfectly for two winners and two formats! You can use the form at the top of the blog, and please do get back to me by Thursday, October 27 at the latest. Thanks!

Now – curiosity again re: the ARCs etc – what genre do you like? And… who would be able to commit to writing a review? I don’t think I’ll do a mass effort – at least not at this point – but I could very well likely hook up at least a few people with various books…

*With the randomizer.org thing … everyone who commented on that post left something of substance or was interactive, so I was more than happy to leave it to the internet gods of random. However, I definitely reserve the right to only consider/draw names from people who leave “real” comments now and in the future. Just an FYI – I’ve mentioned/imposed it as of a week or two ago. 🙂 [Not that most of you who are reading this will even have to “worry” about that. Just… venting my spleen a bit I suppose.]

National Make a Difference Day!

That’s today! So… I guess I started my “making a difference” thing a bit early. 😉 Otherwise? Today? I puttered around with my dad. Does keeping family peace etc count as doing good/making a difference? 😉 Maybe not doing that would’ve made a bad difference…

I can’t promise I’ll stop harping on issues… but do let me know if it ever gets annoying or I should slow it down a bit. Apparently I’ve already offended some people… so… whatever. Can’t win ’em all, of course, but I never want to be a nuisance, you know?

My Sadeyes don’t have a game today – it’s our bye week so I’m not glued to the tv. Did a lot of cooking – maybe I’ll share the recipe for one or two. Do you guys like sweet/savory food? I actually don’t, which made today interesting…

How’s everyone doing? Did you know it was Make a Difference Day here in the States? Did you do anything to help make a difference?

And! What books are all of you looking forward to? I want to know – would any of you ever be interested in writing a review for me if you got an ARC of a book? Of course it’d have to be reviewed in a timely manner… but hey – you’d get an ARC! I’d love to know if this is something I should consider pursuing. Thanks!

Destiny! The Carly Phillips Winners!

Courtesy of judicious selection, and then a plug into randomizer.org… the winners are Jennifer Wilson and Tricia! What on earth am I talking about? Well remember when Carly Phillips shared an exclusive excerpt of Serendipity? And then later contacted me that she had received ARCs of Destiny and would like to have a giveaway? Well the response was so great Ms. Phillips offered two signed ARCs! Whee! Thanks so much for your generosity, Ms. Carly! *ETA: Winners, please email me your addresses by Thursday to claim your prize!

Now if you didn’t win today, as usual there are any number of upcoming giveaways, but there’s one that started this very day – my special reader guest of the month, Eli, is generously offering a $10 gift card to book depository, so if you win and wanted to, you could pre-order Destiny!

Lastly, a question to all of you faithful who read my blog. Or at least allow me to believe you do ;). I know there’s the calendar here, but it only has the most basic/earliest blog features. Which would be the monthly “Guest Author & A Giveaway” as well as my “Reader Guest Posts.” Would you be interested in me posting a monthly thing of other random guests or giveaways I might be hosting on my blog? Generally I schedule pretty far in advance, but if something happens last minute I’d just edit the post to reflect changes. Say whatever Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday is closest to the first of the month?

Yea? Nay?

And how is everyone doing this fine weekend? My Buckeyes were able to pull it together and not be such Sadeyes, getting the win over Illinois. Thankfully. So today wasn’t that bad. I also made cake balls. Which were under appreciated. >:( So that made me grumpy. As usual, a mix in “Lime world.”
