Native American/First Nations/Indigenous Romance Authors

Hi friends! November is National Native American Heritage Month!

If you’re new to A Little Bit Tart, A Little Bit Sweet (ALBTALBS) I used to have guests. Now, every year I post a list. I’m so excited to have a number of new names to added this year! Most of them have been published they’re [simply] new to me – though there’s nothing simply about it. I’m thrilled to see this number growing, and more books to look into.

As always if you fall under this umbrella and want me to add you, or know someone who could/should be added, please let me know! (And on the flip side, if you want to be removed, let me know that as well.) … Also I know at least one of the authors is Canadian – but you know, North America. (I’m still not quite sure how to split or not split international authors …)

An Ongoing List of Latinx Romance Authors

Hi Friends! It’s Latinx Heritage Month 2022! Or Hispanic Heritage Month.  This is honestly way too nuanced a topic for this intro and I’m definitely not the authority on it. I’m also not equipped to make a determination or discuss. So… I mentioned it a while back but this is the way ALBTALBS  ~celebrates the Smithsonian Heritage Months now. Please find a list of Latinx romance authors below.
(You can also search the blog for guest posts from years past – a few of the authors listed here have written really lovely posts, and/or shared exclusive excerpts from their books.)

Of course this isn’t an exhaustive list – just who I’ve found. I’m trying my best.

And, if you missed them, you can find a list of Black Romance Authors here, as well as a list of APIA Romance Authors.

Ongoing List of Asian Pacific Islander [American] Romance Authors

Hi friends! So the world is a fucking dumpster fire, and … yeah. I hope this list brings a spot of joy though, and you discover some excellent “new to me” authors to glom. <3

The top list is “North American” Romance Authors … which sure SAPAHM/APIAHM is for the USA but … I’d posit someone living in Canada [maybe? generally?] has a closer cultural experience than someone who has never lived in N. America? And I could’ve just … omitted the “second” list but … I do want to shout out those authors – so yeah.

Have you read any of the authors on this list? Is there anyone I missed? Obviously I’ll never be able to get/know of everyone but I’d like to be as inclusive as possible. (And as always, if you’re an author who doesn’t want to be on this list, please let me know so I can remove you.)

Thanks all, and I hope you’re doing well! <3 Thanks for sticking with ALBTALBS!

Ongoing List of Black Romance Authors

Hi friends! Happy February and Black History Month! As you may or may not know, I stopped trying for [Smithsonian] Heritage Month posts, although they are always welcome. Instead of stressing about it though at the beginning of [some Heritage] month(s) we want to feature authors who fall under that umbrella.

As always, this list is by no means comprehensive. It’s the Black romance authors I know of, and I’m always hoping to add more names to the list.

This site is not solely Black romance authors – but if you didn’t know about Women of Color in Romance it’s a great resource, listing new releases, books by genre, etc.

If there are any errors, please let me know. Or, if you want to be removed from the list. If anyone knows of names I should add, please tell me in the comments and I’ll put them in! Thank you!
