It’s been a lot for … I mean everyone seems too encompassing, but for a significant number of people just with a lot of personal stuff, work, life, the world. … The low key unease from the sense that now we’re all gonna die at any possible moment and the doomsday clock keeps moving closer and closer to midnight… And in our smaller microcosm, it seems like a lot of people haven’t been reading much lately. Nothing is working, and books are being DNF’d left and right. So …
ANYWAY. Let’s ignore all that. >.>
I’m looking for happy, and joy, and love and happily ever after happy endings in my books!
What’s your “go to” recommendation for people? What have you read and re-read so much your physical copy either is, or would be falling apart?

I loved Lord Nicholas in TEN WAYS TO BE ADORED WHEN LOVING A LORD. And Bourne in A ROGUE BY ANY OTHER NAME. I’ve read both of those books multiple times.
LORD OF SCOUNDRELS by Loretta Chase is another I’ve read. It’s a bit 90s old school.

When I feel too old to curl up in a ball and suck my thumb, I turn to Loretta Chase for consolation. Specifically, Mr. Impossible and Lord Perfect. And if that hasn’t sufficed, I read Eloisa James’ Much Ado About You.
*whispers* don’t tell anyone, Lillian, but I’ve yet to read :-O either of those Chase titles. *hides* … but I have read Much Ado About You – just not in a while! I re-read Josie’s book last year! 🙂
I don’t re-read often but one of my favorites is Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas. If you like small-town, I just finished Smooth-Talking Cowboy by Maisey Yates. It was fantastic. Oh, and I loved His Perfect Partner by Priscella Oliveras.
I’ve also fallen into a Harlequin Romance line rabbit hole. Don’t be fooled by the titles. The heroes may be rich or successful but there are no jerks allowed. These books are low angst, sweet romances and so, so nice. The Man Behind the Mask by Barbara Wallace is very good. Anything by Therese Beharrie.
If you want romantic suspense, I could recommend a ton. But that might not be what you are in the mood for at the moment considering… One thing I will say is that if you dip into inspirational romantic suspense, you can get great action and danger without any heavy descriptions of violence.
